Sheena Yu-Jones, MSW Intern

Sheena is currently completing her Master of Social Work at the University of Georgia and brings a warm, supportive, and trauma-informed approach to her work with clients. She strives to create a safe space where clients feel heard, understood, and supported as they navigate life's challenges.

As a Korean-American, Sheena values diversity and embraces the unique experiences, identities, and perspectives that each person brings to therapy. She recognizes that therapy is not "one-size-fits-all" and works to tailor her approach to each client's individual needs and goals. Her clinical approach is influenced by Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, and Multicultural Therapy.

Sheena earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Georgia State University in 2023 and is currently in her final year of the Master of Social Work program at the University of Georgia. She also has four years of experience providing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy as a Registered Behavior Technician, primarily working with children in a clinical setting. This experience has given her a strong foundation in understanding child development, behavior, and the unique needs of children and families.

Outside of her professional and academic life, Sheena is married and a proud cat mom to a silly gray tuxedo cat. She enjoys playing video games and binge-watching TV shows, as well as spending time with friends and family at locally owned cafés over a good cup of coffee.
